Florida Green Certified Professional Designation Program The Florida Green Building Coalition, the largest certifier of green building within the state of Florida has launched a designation program designed to certify professionals. The designation program is comprised of several courses and end of course exams. The courses are designed to allow individuals to learn, in modules, about green building and the Florida Green Building Coalition certification programs. Each section covers background information, fundamental strategies and climate specific techniques to create healthy and efficient building for Florida.
The Florida Green Certified Professional Designation course is comprised of six 1-hour modules that are divided into sections. Participants will learn how to prioritize and select green building strategies including energy, water, site and lot preparation and preservation, health and resource efficient strategies and durability practices that are appropriate for the area in which they are building. Upon successful completion of the course and exam the professional will gain certification. Once the certification has been issued, the professional will have the option of receiving additional specialties. These specialties will allow professionals to distinguish themselves as experts within a specific FGBC standard. These specialties will be required for professionals wishing to submit projects for certification.
